Continental To Transport Wayward Wisconsin Cat Home From France

Another Sign That Animals Are Taking Over The Skies

First it was pigs, now a cat... Aero-News has learned that Emily, a stowaway feline that made her way from Appleton, WI to France inside a shipping container over two months ago, will be flown home across the Atlantic in high style aboard a Continental Airlines 777.

"Continental Airlines is well regarded for pet transport and our acclaimed PetSafe program, and we knew we could provide the very best air service to Emily, getting her back to her family quickly and comfortably," a Continental spokesperson said. "We're pleased to get Emily back to Appleton to enjoy the holiday season at home."

In fact, according to an airline press release, the globetrotting feline will travel in first class the whole way... although she'll still have to connect in Newark.

Emily disappeared from her home in Appleton in late September, and was found nearly a month later by some surprised workers at a laminating company in Nancy, France. Since her accommodations on the leg out were less than luxurious, Continental will transport the feline home in the airline's BusinessFirst class.

We're certain Emily will appreciate the 55-inch seat pitch, adjustable winged headrests, personal video entertainment center, and gourmet inflight meals specially designed by Continental's Congress of Chefs, with beverage pairings arranged by the Congress of Wine Masters -- a level of service that typically costs $6,700, according to the Continental website.

For anyone who's ever wondered why there's a curtain separating First Class from Economy... this is why.

And the next time you call that packed cross-country flight you're on a "cattle car", consider this... the cows would likely be treated better.
