The Folks At The Recreational Aviation Foundation Are Hitting The Fly-In Circuit And Invite You To Join In
The Recreational Aviation Foundation’s (RAF) mission is to keep the legacy of recreational aviation strong by preserving, maintaining and creating public use recreational and backcountry airstrips nationwide. On the weekend of September 12, they are joining in with a couple of fly-ins and are inviting others to join with them.
The first planned fly-in stop it is the International Seaplane Fly-In located in Greenville, ME being held from the 10th to 13th of September. It takes place at Moosehead Lake.
The RAF will be joining with The International Seaplane Fly-In Association which is a non-profit organization whose main focus is to provide aviation education (and a whole lot of fun!) to participants and spectators alike.
The RAF is sharing booth space again this year with Maine Aeronautics. You’re urged to stop by and meet one of the following RAF State Liaisons; Andy Rowe, Bob Burley or Russ Holland. They will be there to talk about recreational and backcountry aviation.
The next stop will be the Triple Tree Fly-in located in Woodruff, SC from September 9th through the 13th.
Triple Tree Aviators are all friendly people with a common love of aviation! It seems like everyone goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful here. It really doesn't matter if you are a new student pilot or a senior 747 international captain, you're going to find that the passion for flying is alive and well at Triple Tree.
RAF President, John McKenna, and RAF Vice President, Tim Clifford, will be speaking on Saturday at 1pm. You’re invited to look up the RAF folks at the campground and say “hello.” The first 10 RAF members to stop by with a friend and get them signed up as an RAF donor member will receive a gift!
