Cessna, Machinists Ratify New Three Year Contract

Cessna Aircraft has announced that it has reached an agreement for a three-year contract with members of Local Lodge 774 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (I.A.M.).

"This agreement is a true reflection of Cessna's commitment to all employees and to our belief in the value of working collaboratively with the I.A.M. Without a doubt, Cessna has the best employees in the industry," said Cessna Chairman, President and CEO Jack J. Pelton.

"We believe this package is both beneficial to Cessna employees and competitive in today's marketplace."

These folks will have plenty to do... In 2006, Cessna delivered 1,239 aircraft, including 307 Citation business jets, and reported revenues of about $4.2 billion and a backlog of $8.5 billion. Since the company was originally established in 1927, more than 189,000 Cessna airplanes have been delivered to nearly every country in the world. The global fleet of more than 5,000 Citations is the largest fleet of business jets in the world.

The new contract will take effect on September 17, 2007.
