Safe Flight Donates $50,000 To Corporate Angel Network

CAN Has Arranged More Than 36,000 Flights To Assist Cancer Patients

Safe Flight Instrument Corporation, a pioneer in aviation safety and performance since 1946, has donated $50,000 to Corporate Angel Network, the public charity that coordinates free flights to treatment for cancer patients using empty seats on business aircraft.

"Safe Flight is delighted to be able to support cancer patients in their efforts to access the best available treatment through this unique and important organization," said Randall Greene, Safe Flight's President and CEO and Chairman of the Board of Corporate Angel.  "We've been supporting CAN's effort since the beginning in 1981 and will continue to do so for many years to come."

Safe Flight transported the first patient for CAN, returning a 16 year old boy to his home in Detroit after treatment in New York City.  To date, Corporate Angel has arranged more than 36,000 flights and typically flies between 250 and 300 patients to treatment each month.

Since its founding nearly 30 years ago, Corporate Angel has grown to include 530 participating corporations, a team of 50 part-time volunteers and six paid staff who work with patients, physicians, corporate flight departments, and leading treatment centers to coordinate the medical travel needs of cancer patients with the flight activity of participating corporations.
