It's A Bird, It's A Plane... It's A Tree

Pikes Peak Accident Search Called Off

There was a pretty big scare in Colorado over the weekend... where witnesses called 911 to report a plane down at the 11,000-foot level of Pike's Peak near Colorado Springs.

Aircraft and ground teams were called in to search the area. They scoured the area all night on Saturday, but they found nothing.

Still, witnesses were sure they saw something. Even as the search continued, they insisted some sort of aircraft wreckage was near Windy Peak on the mountainside.

Finally, crews took witnesses back to the mountain, where they were asked to point out the "wreckage," which they promptly did.

It was a tree.

The search has been called off... and everybody's hopefully gotten a little sleep.
