Textron Aviation Hosts Delivery Ceremony For Barbers Point Flight School

Turbo Skyhawk JT-A To Enter Service Soon

Textron Aviation recently held a delivery ceremony for a Turbo Skyhawk JT-A to Hawaii’s Barbers Point Flight School (BPFS) this week at EAA AirVenture. The aircraft is the first of two that the flight school has ordered to modernize its fleet and support flight training efforts.

BPFS is a full-service flight school located in Hawaii offering flight training for those seeking career paths as pilots in the aviation industry. The flight school administers quality training and provides professional experience to pilots seeking FAA certification and licensing.

The Turbo Skyhawk JT-A includes an integrated powerplant, propeller and cockpit upgrade package that boosts the standard Skyhawk’s performance. The advanced 155 horsepower turbodiesel Continental CD-155 engine burns globally available Jet-A fuel. At 963 nautical miles, maximum range increases by 50 percent over the standard Skyhawk, and maximum speed is increased to 134 knots. The Turbo Skyhawk JT-A also offers improved takeoff performance, especially in high and hot conditions.
