Capt. Bo Zhang Set To Undertake The Three-Month Journey
Two Chinese entities are set to launch that country's first attempt to circumnavigate the globe using a piston airplane.
Avjet Routing Flight Support and UAERO China are proud to announce a history making project. Captain Bo Zhang will perform China’s first flight around the world in a propeller driven aircraft.
The journey is expected to take 3 months. Avjet Routing says it will demonstrate its capability of delivering global flight support.
Captain Bo Zhang (pictured), an aviation enthusiast, plans to depart in May of next year from Beijing, China. The planned 49 legs will take him and his DA 42 aircraft via Russia to North America. From there he will proceed via Iceland to Europe. Turkey and the CIS will be the last stations on the route before heading back to Beijing, China to complete the circumnavigation.
“We are very proud and honored that we have been chosen by UAERO China to support them in all operational matters. The pioneering spirit of UAERO and our wealth of experience and expertise are the perfect mix for a successful project” stated Sam Wanli, CEO and Founder of Avjet Routing.
“This dangerous journey requires attention to every detail. The respective parts of the trip need to be planned with meticulous precision. This is what Avjet Routing stands for. We will ensure that Captain Zhang and UAERO make Chinese aviation history” said Moe A. Edlibi, General Manager and Founder of Avjet Routing.
"With this project we want to draw attention to general aviation in China. It will have a very bright future and at this stage we want to create public awareness for the general aviation sector. With Avjet Routing as our strategic partner we are looking forward to a very successful outcome”, added Tony Xue from UAERO China.
