JAA Gives OK for DOA
Bombardier Recreational Products'
Austrian division, Bombardier-Rotax GmbH & Co. KG, has received
the approval to act as an International Design Organisation (Design
Organisation Approval – DOA), according to JAR-21 aviation
law (Joint Aviation Requirements). The DOA status has been awarded
by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and
Technology, the highest Austrian Aviation Authority, acting on
behalf of the European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA).
Acting as International Design Organisation gives
Bombardier-Rotax complete approval rights of minor changes on
certified aircraft engines and control over the timing of both
minor and major changes. This accreditation also provides
Bombardier-Rotax with the authority to approve certain type of
technical documentation related to certified aircraft engines.
The receipt of the
approval as international design organisation simplifies the whole
administration of type certificates and changes on certified
aircraft engines, making Bombardier-Rotax even more cost-efficient
and competitive.
"We consider the DOA an important honor for our division and our
employees. It is proof of our continuous commitment to our products
and of our co-operation with the responsible authorities," states
Mr. Harald Ploeckinger, Managing Director of Bombardier-Rotax GmbH
& Co. KG. "We are proud to say that we are the second company
in Austria to receive the DOA. This approval is another milestone
in the history of success of Bombardier-Rotax," Mr. Ploeckinger
added.
Bombardier-Rotax is now looking to obtain the
international Production Organisation Approval (POA), according to
JAR-21.
