SpaceX founder Elon Musk has unveiled the prototype of its Starship spacecraft that he hopes will be carrying people into space next year and eventually carry colonists to Mars.

The spacecraft was unveiled at a celebration marking the 11th anniversary of the first launch of the Falcon 1, which happened September 28th, 2008. The Starship is designed to carry up to 100 people to destinations such as the moon or Mars, and will carry Japanese billionaire entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa and a handful of artists on a trip around the moon in the 2020s, if all goes according to plan. Continental has announced that long-time Chief Executive Officer and president Rhett Ross plans to retire. Over the past 12 years, Ross has guided Continental through a recession, the sale to AVIC International Holding Corporation, and Continental’s listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He led Continental in five successful acquisitions to add technology and additional product lines valued in excess of $40 million. Ross most recently championed the $75 million construction of Continental’s new manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama. All of aviation is looking much more like the world that surrounds it... and Israel is the latest focal point of some welcome changes. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) has its first female squadron commander. Lt. Col. G is a "role model and inspiration to thousands of women" in Israel, said Israeli Air Force Commander Amiram Norkin. Lt. Col. G assumed command of the squadron last week. Now 35 years old, she enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces in 2003. She completed the Israeli Air Forces' training course, specializing in piloting transport aircraft. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
