ATP Signs Two New Pilot Hiring Agreements

ASA, TSA Promise Interviews To Recommended Pilots

When you're just starting out on the path to flying left seat in a commercial airliner cockpit, any 'leg-up' you can get is a good one... and Airline Transport Professionals (ATP) tells Aero-News it has completed two agreements offering such a potential advantage.

ATP reports it received letters in the past two weeks from regional operators Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) and Trans States Airlines (TSA). Both carriers have agreed to guarantee job interviews to pilots who are recommended by ATP.

ASA also agreed to offer conditional offers of employment to ATP-recommended pilots enrolled in these programs prior to reaching minimum flight time requirements.

TSA reduces its minimum prerequisites for ATP graduates to 500 hours total flight time and 100 hours total multi-engine time, in recognition of ATP's Regional Jet Program training curriculum. ASA's requirements are similar, with specially reduced flight time minimums of 500 hours total time and 50 hours total multi-engine time.

In 2006, ATP placed 139 pilots with regional airlines, more than any other single college, flight school, or academy. ATP offers students several airline placement options with Airline Pilot Hiring Partnership letters from eight of the leading Regional Airlines, including: American Eagle, ASA, Colgan Air, ExpressJet, Pinnacle, PSA, SkyWest, and TSA.

In 1984 ATP pioneered accelerated, professional multi-engine flight training with an emphasis on pilot career development.

Today ATP's Airline Training Programs prepare pilots for airline careers with nationwide flying experience in multi-engine and jet aircraft. ATP says airline hiring partnership letters recognize the value of this experience by offering ATP pilots specially reduced flight time minimums for airline employment, enabling pilots to reach their career goals faster.

ATP flies over 5,000 hours and provides more than 300 FAA pilot certifications each month at 22 locations nationwide.
