Bombardier Sells Military Aviation Training Activities to CAE

Sale Allows Bombardier To 'Focus On Core Business'

Bombardier Inc. has reached a definitive agreement for the sale of its Military Aviation Training (MAT) activities to CAE Inc. This will enable Bombardier to further focus on its core business areas.

The completion of this transaction is subject to the approval of all required governmental and regulatory authorities and other customary closing conditions.

Total consideration is $16.3 million (U.S.) and the completion of the transaction for the sale of MAT's activities is expected to close by year end.

CAE has operated a military training center in Australia since 2014. It also owns and operates a comprehensive training center in Tampa, FL for operators of the Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules aircraft (also called the C-130/L-382 as a commercial variant). CAE's C-130 Tampa Training Center offers bilingual (English/Spanish) aircrew and maintenance courses in 16 multimedia classrooms, which includes two purpose-built maintenance training classrooms.

A medium Support Helicopter Aircrew Training Facility (MSHATF) was developed by CAE in consultation with the U.K. Ministry of Defence (MoD).
