Lightspeed Introduces Flightlink App For Zulu.2

Utilizing The iPad/iPhone You Can Now Record And Download Radio Transmissions For Review Later

By Tom Woodward

With Lightspeed's new Flightlink application designed for the Zulu.2 and the iPad or iPhone, you can record and download all communications through the intercom and they are available for instant playback or permanent archiving. Just think. You can now listen to and review your students communications during your just completed lesson on flying into a controlled airfield and help them with their fear of mic fright.

Practice your part 121 airline voice until you achieve that gravelly, deep, confident voice. The uses are only throttled by your imagination. Flightlink allows for up to two minutes of instant playback of Air Traffic Control transmissions, ensuring that you received the correct instructions. You can record multiple events or one long conversation up to the limit of your devices memory.

Flightlink also incorporates a scratchpad so pilot can take clearances and notes with their fingertips. ÒFlightlink is our next step towards integrating the headset into the new connected experience while adding real valueÓ said founder and President of Lightspeed Aviation, Allan Schrader

Flightlink is available for the newer Zulu.2 which are already enabled to work with the app. The older Zulu.2 headsets can be factory retrofitted for a fee of $69.

Of course the new Zulu.2 is still one of the best headset available, fighting neck and neck with Bose as the most comfortable headset on the market, winning by a sizable margin in my opinion. Zulu.2's full-function Bluetooth connectivity provides enhanced sound quality for voice, Bluetooth-enabled phones, streaming stereo music or compatible audio devices. The volume of any auxiliary device is automatically lowered during radio or intercom transmissions thanks to the patent-pending ComPriority function. Lightspeed Aviation is a leading manufacturer of premium aviation headsets. Since the first product was introduced at the Oshkosh AirVenture in 1996, the company has established a reputation for leading innovation in the aviation headset marketplace with a number of Òfirst to marketÓ advances, technologies, and features. This has earned Lightspeed an outstanding reputation and loyal customer following.
