Tempest Supports Able Flight For Memorial Scholarship

Commits To Three Years Of Scholarship Funding

Tempest Plus Marketing Group (TPMG) has announced support for Able Flight as a Platinum Level Sponsor in 2015. With Tempest's backing over the next three years, Able Flight plans to train three pilots designated as recipients of the Tempest/Able Flight Scholarship in Memory of Lloyd Smith.

"I am extremely pleased that Tempest is in a position to give back to our industry in such an inspirational way," said John Herman, President of Tempest. "We are encouraged by the work of Able Flight in helping to fulfill the dreams of flight for these wonderfully deserving people."

"We are honored that Tempest has committee to make it possible for three deserving people to become pilots over the next three years," said Charles Stites of Able Flight. "Tempest is known for the quality of its products and for giving back to aviation, and it is especially gratifying that John Herman approached Able Flight with his wish that Tempest partner with us in this unique mission. We look forward to announcing the first Tempest/Able Flight Scholarship in Memory of Lloyd Smith."

Lloyd Smith was an avid pilot and aircraft builder. "I'm having the time of my life messing around with these airplanes," he once said, and that sums up very well the positive influence that aviation played in his life. From the time of his first solo flight at age 23, airplanes had him hooked. His family, along with Tempest, would like to share that legacy with deserving men and women who wish to transform their lives with the challenge of flight."
