ARINC and Satcom Direct Announce Agreement

Will Jointly Offer Services to Business Aviation

ARINC says it's formed a strategic business alliance with Florida-based Satcom Direct to integrate Satcom Direct's services with the ARINC Direct service suite of data link, flight planning, weather, and aircraft tracking. The companies will also focus on developing more joint offerings with added value for their business aviation customers.

"Satcom Direct, with their Global One Number technology for ground-to-air dialing, is the perfect complement to our portfolio of flight support services," stated Dave Poltorak, ARINC Vice President, Business Aviation Services. "We look forward to working with such an outstanding and customer-service oriented organization."

Satcom Direct currently provides satellite access via the Inmarsat and Iridium satellite constellations to more than 1,500 business aircraft. Users simply dial a global, 10-digit number and telephone calls are connected to the aircraft in seconds. Customers may also combine their Inmarsat, Iridium and terrestrial calling into the same Global One Number. The procedure is as simple as making a direct-dial phone call-regardless of where the aircraft is located.

"Both companies have tremendous capabilities, and by combining our strengths we'll deliver much greater value to our customers," stated Jim Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of Satcom Direct. "The genesis for the alliance with ARINC Direct was to respond to our customers' need for simplified solutions. We are confident our relationship with ARINC Direct will fulfill this need."
