Fantasy Of Flight Hosts Event
Paramotor pilots from
all over the world will gather this week at Fantasy of Flight in
Polk City, FL for the annual Parastar's convention. The event will
run from the 19th to the 24th of April. Pilots at this year's
convention are hoping to set another record in the Guinness book of
records for launching more than 100 paramotors at one time.
What is a Paramotor? Pilots wear a small engine on their back
and have a type of parachute overhead. The small and lightweight
aircraft can lift their pilots high into the air under a multitude
of colorful canopies. Visitors to Fantasy of Flight will be able to
see the flying along with the rest of the aircraft on display.
Vendors will be showing off all sorts of equipment, including
paramotors, wings, prop balancers, windsocks, videos, books and
other goodies. People interested in becoming pilots will see what
is required to get involved in the sport.
If that's not enough fun, how about having a competition? The
United States Powered Paragliding Association will be having a
competition in conjunction with the convention. It sounds like
fun!
