JetBlue Pilots Overwhelmingly Vote to Ratify Tentative Agreement

Vote Brings the First Collective Bargaining Agreement to JetBlue Airways

JetBlue pilots have ratified a tentative agreement, which now becomes the pilot group’s first collective bargaining agreement with the company. With 98 percent of eligible pilots participating, 74 percent voted to ratify the tentative agreement. The agreement provides significant increases in pay, improvements to retirement, and enhanced working conditions.

“After more than three years of negotiations, JetBlue pilots now have a contract that recognizes our contributions to this company,” said Capt. Patrick Walsh, chairman of the JetBlue Master Executive Council. “This agreement is the result of hard work and the unmatched unity of the JetBlue pilot group.”

The pilots have been in negotiations with the company for more than three years after bringing ALPA on to the property. In May 2018, an agreement in principle was reached with the company, which was then expanded into full contract language in June. Voting opened on the agreement on July 6 and closed today at 10:00 a.m.
