Aspen Avionics Order Book 'Evolves' To The Tune Of $1.5 Million

New Evolution Flight Display Racks Up Impressive Sales Numbers

It was, as they say, not a bad first week. Aspen Avionics announced Friday at EAA AirVenture 2007 it has received over $1.5 million in new orders for its new Evolution Flight Display product line during the first week it was available for sale.

As ANN reported, Aspen launched the modular Evolution system on Monday. The company  touts the system as an affordable glass cockpit system for certified general aviation (GA) aircraft.

“These orders from dealers confirm what we already knew about the Evolution Flight Display,” said Aspen’s President and CEO John Uczekaj, “that the underserved GA market has been seeking a glass cockpit solution that is designed and priced to meet the needs of GA fleet.”

Aspen also announced Monday it recently completed raising $8.5 million in Series B venture funding -- proceeds of which will be used, among other things, to expand the company’s Sales and Customer Service operations as it strengthens its ability to market and support the new Evolution Flight Display product line.

The first two models in the Evolution system -- the EFD1000 Pilot Primary Flight Display and EFD1000 Pro Primary Flight Display -- will be certified in Fall 2007 and delivered through Authorized Avionics Dealers.
