Midwest Schedulers & Dispatchers Group To Meet In Chicago

Biannual Meeting Hosts Members From Throughout The Region

The Midwest Schedulers & Dispatchers Group held their biannual meeting on April 26th at Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs baseball club.  The group, which formed back in 2000, boasted record-breaking attendance figures nearing 75 people, with members coming from Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Missouri.

The event, sponsored by Air Routing International, started with a networking hour complete with dinner and drinks held in the private setting of the field’s Stadium Club.  After dinner and a few announcements, the group then headed-out to the bleachers to watch the Chicago Cubs take the field against the Cincinnati Reds.  The Cubs ended-up losing, but the event itself was a complete success.

"Gatherings like these are crucial to our profession, which allow us to form friendships and give us the ability to call upon each other for support and expertise when needed", noted Kandi Spangler, the group’s Chairperson. The group meets twice annually with a networking event held in the spring, and an educational forum held during the fall.  "This set-up seems to really work for our membership," said Spangler. "It gives us a chance to not only get together and build friendships, but we also offer some truly valuable informational sessions that help us all grow professionally."

The Group’s fall meeting is currently scheduled for October in Waukegan, IL with Universal Weather and Aviation presenting on International Customs and Handling Procedures.
