O'Keeffe Member Of Aircraft Resale Organization Since 2003
Aero-News has learned Michael O'Keeffe, Sr. Vice President at
Banyan Air Service, was recently appointed as Board Chairman for
the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA).
"Michael has been a NARA member since 2003 and has been elected
by his peers to be the 2009 Chairman of the Association," NARA
President Susan Sheets commented.
"Michael's dedicated service to NARA spans many years, first as
secretary, then treasurer for two consecutive years, and vice
chairman in 2008. Given his extensive experience in aircraft
sales and excellent connections to the broker/dealer community, we
are very pleased that Michael will continue to lead NARA as its
chairman. The industry faces some challenging times ahead and
Michael is the man for the job."
O'Keefe joined Banyan Air Service in 1996 and has served in a
variety of managerial positions with Banyan, including vice
president of aircraft maintenance, general manager, director of
operations and now he is responsible for aircraft sales and
management.
He is an active pilot and holds an Airline Transport Pilot
license (ATP), instrument, multi-engine land and sea plane ratings
along with type ratings in King Air 300/350 Turboprops and Citation
500 series jets. He holds an undergraduate degree in finance
and a Master's of Business Administration from Embry Riddle
University.
The National Aircraft Resale Association is a professional trade
association made up of firms that specialize in aircraft sales and
brokerage. The Association was organized for the specific purpose
of promoting a consistently high set of ethical standards in buying
and selling business aircraft and to communicate those standards to
the marketplace. Over 80% of business aircraft sales are handled by
the broker/dealer network, and it is in the best interest of the
buyer and seller to seek representation through a broker or dealer
who meets the ethical and professional standards of NARA
membership.
