TFR's Issued For 9/11 Memorial Services, September 10-12, 2011

New York City And Shanksville, PA Will See Flight Restrictions

The FAA issued a statement Friday indicating that, at the request of law enforcement and national security partners, temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) would be put in place over New York City and Shanksville, PA, in addition to the existing restrictions in the Washington, D.C., area this weekend.

During the period from September 10-12, 2011, numerous local, state, and federal entities will conduct memorial services and other events in observance of the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001.

Additional restrictions may be put into place at other locations across the country as conditions warrant. Pilots operating during this timeframe should frequently check for new TFRs and other pertinent information.
