ELITE A-ATD Will Provide Students Training On DA40, DA42
Platforms
Angel City Flyers -- an
Oxsfordshire, England-based training school flying out of Long
Beach Airport in the States -- has become the first delivery
customer for ELITE Simulation Solutions' new Garmin G1000-equipped
iGATE Advanced Aviation Training Device, or A-ATD. The sim is
outfitted with an actual G1000 flat-glass panel, utilizing the
10.4" PFD/MFD displays that are rapidly becoming OEM equipment in
many airframes. Desktop and cockpit versions of the iGATE A-ATDs
are available, in almost any configuration -- including the Diamond
DA40 and DA42 twin, developed in cooperation with Diamond Aircraft
Industries.
"We currently operate two Elite iGATE Advanced Aviation Training
Devices and find them invaluable in our training programs," says
Seosamh Somers, President Angel City Flyers Inc., in an ELITE press
release. "They allow us to replicate scenarios and introduce
training efficiencies which are not possible when using the
aircraft alone. Our G1000 iGATE will play a pivotal role in our
partnership with USAero providing Diamond Aircraft factory approved
training programs for Technically Advanced Aircraft such as the
DA40 and DA42.
"The G1000 iGATE will enable us to deliver enhanced proficiency
at a greater value for both VFR and IFR flight training and single
pilot resource management," continued Somers. "We feel that the
fidelity, usability and robustness of Elite products will continue
to enhance our mission of providing pilots with confidence through
proficiency."
"We are honored to have Angel City Flyers as the launch customer
for the new G1000-equipped iGATE," says Fred Zanegood, ELITE
Director of Marketing. "Forward thinking training organizations
such as Angel City Flyers will lead the way into the future using
the technological advances in simulation today."
For over 15 years, ELITE Simulation Solutions has been providing
IFR simulators to colleges, universities, flight academies and
flight schools worldwide.
