Malden, MO Mayor Declares April ‘General Aviation Appreciation Month'

MGA Contributes Over $857 Million To The State's Economy Each Year

The Alliance for Aviation Across America has commended Mayor Ray Santie of Malden, Missouri for proclaiming April “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In Missouri, general aviation airports support an economic impact of over $857 million annually.

“Mayor Santie’s proclamation helps highlight the economic benefits and valuable service that general aviation provides to Malden and the State of Missouri,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We sincerely thank the Mayor and the City of Malden for recognizing this vital industry.”

The proclamation states that Missouri's 115 public-use GA airports, 55 repair stations, 547 heliports, 1,732 student pilots, 1,610 flight instructors, 9,087 pilots and 3,953 active aircraft support the state's economy and improves overall quality of life by supporting emergency medical and healthcare services, law enforcement, firefighting and disaster relief, and by transporting business travelers to their destinations quickly and safely.
