Oshkosh 2006 to Feature 'Warbirds In Review'

The great military aircraft and fliers of the last 65 years will be the special guests at The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration when EAA AirVenture Oshkosh again hosts its Warbirds In Review sessions. The 54th annual EAA AirVenture event will be held July 24-30 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.

The Warbirds in Review program, started in 2003, allows aviation enthusiasts to get up close to rare warbird aircraft and meet the people who flew these airplanes in combat, as well as those who own them today. Among the personalities and aircraft who are scheduled to appear are:

  • David "Tex" Hill of the Flying Tigers and the Curtiss P-40 "Warhawk";
  • World War II triple ace Bud Anderson and the P-51 "Mustang," along with the aircraft's owner, NASCAR team owner Jack Roush;
  • Dick Rutan, Vietnam combat pilot with the F-100 "Super Sabre";
  • And other aircraft that include a B-25 bomber, British "Hurricane" fighter, plus much more.

All Warbirds in Review sessions will be held in the EAA AirVenture warbirds area, located at the north end of the flight line.  The exact schedule will be announced as it is confirmed.
