More 'Buzz' At AEA 2004: navAero's New tBag C2

Billed as The First Truly Affordable EFB System Designed for the Cockpit

navAero unveiled a new and exciting EFB (Electronic flight bag) during proceedings at Tuesday's AEA 2004 Tradeshow. The new tBag C2 EFB, is said to be "a complete cost efficient Electronic Flight Bag system designed to be used during all phases of flight by every aviation segment... general, corporate and commercial."

navAero notes that aviation professionals have long recognized the benefits of using portable computers to perform a variety of function that have traditionally been accomplished using paper references. But off-the-shelf Laptop and Tablet PCs are simply not a viable EFB solution. Their large size, awkward format and less than desirable display screens (too bright at night; to dim in sunlight) make them totally inappropriate for real world use in aircrafts.

navAero's latest offering brings to market a complete, economical EFB computer/display solution specifically designed to meet the needs of the aviation industry... at a starting cost of less than $3,500.

In accordance with FAA Advisory Circular AC NO: 120-76A, certification of the tBag C2 is currently in process with planned approval scheduled by June, 2004. As a Class 2 EFB, dual installations of the tBag C2 will be the most cost efficient way to make the move to a true paperless cockpit. Not only will this eliminate paper clutter, it will also bring tremendous and immediate cost savings.

The navAero tBag C2 EFB incorporates the highly successful tPad display. Key features include:

  • Optically engineered sunlight-readable, resistive touch screen display
  • 8.4" active-matrix liquid crystal display color screen in 800 x 600 resolution (portrait mode); available in 10.4" display size (1024 x 768 resolution in portrait mode) as an option
  • Fully dimmable for night flying (illumination as low as 3 nits)
