Desert Jet Lands Spot On The 2012 Inc. 500 List

Private Jet Charter Company Checks In At Number 69 On Magazine's Exclusive List

Even with President Obama's often-disparaging remarks about business aviation, some companies continue to thrive. Inc. magazine recently ranked Desert Jet, an aircraft management and private jet charter company based in Southern California, on the prestigious Inc. 500 list, for the second time.

The company earned the number 69 spot on the 2012 Inc. 500 list, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The three-year growth rate for Desert Jet was 3750 percent, up from last year's growth rate of 1107 percent, and a ranking of 296. Desert Jet also ranked in the top 10 of women-run companies on this year's list, as well as the top 10 of logistics and transportation companies.

The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America's independent entrepreneurs. Companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, Jamba Juice, and Oracle gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500.  Desert Jet shares the spotlight this year with powerhouses such as Facebook and Levi Strauss.

Desert Jet was founded in 2007 by entrepreneur and pilot Denise Wilson to help individuals and corporations use business jets to fulfill their corporate and personal travel needs.  Desert Jet experienced explosive growth over the last several years as fractional share owners, jet card holders and aircraft owners turned to the company to provide them with more cost effective private jet travel and ownership options.  Wilson was also honored by Inc. Magazine on their list of Top Female CEOs on the Inc. 500 list.

"To rank among the 2012 Inc. 500, your company had to thrive through three of the toughest years this economy has seen in living memory," wrote Inc. Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Eric Schurenberg in a congratulatory letter to Desert Jet. "Your success in such times is eloquent testimony to your team's creativity, resilience and tenacity."
