Commaris Announces Partnership with CYTTA

Seekers of Clarity

In keeping with the precept that a sentry’s eyes ought be as good as his legs, Commaris, a Massachusetts-based builder of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), has partnered with Cytta Corp., an outfit specializing in video compression and real-time streaming. The partnership seeks to outfit Commaris’s proven and popular SEEKER UAV with Cytta’s Incident Global Area Network (IGAN) command system and SUPR video compression technology—thereby giving rise to a tough, agile, sharp-eyed drone capable of dramatically improving the situational awareness and operational efficacy of first responders worldwide.

Kevin Colburn, president of Commaris parent company Terrafugia states: "We are excited to launch our new partnership with Cytta and leverage their groundbreaking communications solutions for high-bandwidth video. Cytta’s IGAN is a unique tool for video collaboration that includes the integration of video feeds from unmanned operations. With IGAN, our SEEKER UAV will make it simple for participants to not only remotely stream an airborne video feed in real-time, but also remotely send in-flight video commands such as video zoom on an area of interest. Combined, our two companies’ products will be a game-changer for public safety organizations for incident management, disaster relief, and other situations.”

Cytta’s IGAN system is a fully integrated, multimedia connectivity platform that collects, compresses, and streams real-time, HD video and audio via 4K (and higher) resolution in bandwidth constrained environments.

Cytta Corp. CEO Gary Campbell puts forth: “Commaris’s Seeker UAV is one of the most advanced and functional in the aircraft industry, which is why Cytta is eagerly embracing our partnership with this innovative and exciting company. By partnering with Commaris, we look forward to jointly engineering an unparalleled Commaris product that incorporates both our IGAN and SUPR connectivity systems. With the addition of our proprietary technology, SEEKER aircraft across the world will be able to offer customers real-time, safe, secure, and actionable information in sensitive environments on an ongoing basis.”

The SEEKER UAV is a fixed-wing eVTOL that utilizes four rotors for vertical flight, and a single, aft-mounted pusher-propeller for forward thrust to aerodynamic flight. Commaris asserts SEEKER’s robust, composite airframe and 15-foot wingspan are capable of carrying aloft a ten-pound [maximum] payload at speeds of over seventy-miles-per-hour for up to three-hours on a single charge of the beastie’s dual-redundant, lithium-polymer batteries. Paired with Cytta’s video and audio surveillance and streaming technologies, the platform is apt to prove a boon to first responders, as well as individuals and organizations in the energy, manufacturing, power-transmission, security, surveillance, mapping, and maritime patrol sectors.
