AeroSports Update: Chuck Aaron Retires From Red Bull’s Team, Not Flying

Noted Air Show Pilot Says Still In The Game

Last month AeroSports Update printed a tweet from airshow pilot Chuck Aaron that stated, “I am retiring from the "Airshow Circuit". After 10 years and about 250 Airshow[s]...My last Airshow will be at the Red Bull Air Race in Las Vegas on October 17-18. I will continue to be a pilot of course, but I'll be done with the Airshow Circus.”

Now we have an Instagram message from Chuck that reads, “I Just wanted to clear up something... I am only retiring from "Red Bull" and the aerobatics in helicopters. I'm still going to be an active pilot flying helicopters and some planes. Not exactly sure yet what I'll be doing, but I'll find something else that's fun. I'll still be sending out cool pictures of my life, so stay tuned!  PS... Make sure you all go watch the new "James Bond" movie called Spectre coming out Nov. 6th.”

In case you’re not aware, Aaron is the guy who makes chit-chat while barrel-rolling a Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm Bo-105 and hurling the thing toward the Earth in complete control, his calm hands twisting the very physics that govern rotary-wing aircraft. He is noted for carrying on a dialogue during his routines that makes you wonder how he can talk and keep control of the helicopter all at the same time.

We’re not exactly sure what Chuck means about the James Bond movie, but we suspect there is going to be a helicopter involved doing some very weird things.
