Embry Riddle Appoints Three To Board Of Trustees

John Amore, Ron Keys, And Zane Rowe Tapped In March

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Board of Trustees elected three new members during its March 2010 meeting. John Amore is the CEO of the Global General Insurance division of Zurich Financial Services and a member of its Group Executive Committee. Retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Ron Keys is a consultant on energy, transportation, and national security issues. Zane Rowe is the executive vice president and CFO of Continental Airlines Inc.

"We are delighted to welcome these three new members to Embry-Riddle's Board," said Dr. John P. Johnson, Embry-Riddle president. "They bring a wealth of experience and inspired leadership that will help us chart the University's future growth while maintaining our strong tradition of excellence."

John Amore (right) joined Zurich U.S. (now Zurich North America) in 1992 and has held such titles as CEO of the Zurich U.S. Specialties Business unit, CEO of Zurich U.S., and CEO of the North America Corporate Business division. Before joining Zurich, he was vice chairman of the Commerce and Industry Insurance Company, a member company of American International Group (AIG).

Amore

He is currently chairman of the American Insurance Association's Board of Directors. Amore holds a bachelor's degree in management from Embry-Riddle and an MBA in finance from New York University.

Gen. Ron Keys)Right) retired in 2007 after a career of over 40 years in the Air Force. During his last assignment, as commander of Air Combat Command, the Air Force's largest major command, he led the establishment of the Air Force's first Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Wing and first Network Warfare Wing. In 2007 the Air Force Association honored Keys with its most prestigious award, the H. H. Arnold Award, presented annually to a member of the military who has made the most significant contribution to national defense.

Keys

Keys is a consultant to government, military, and civilian organizations on such topics as climate change, energy, national security, transportation, and UAVs. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Kansas State University and an MBA from Golden Gate University.

Zane Rowe (right) joined Continental Airlines in 1993, holding such positions as vice president of Financial Planning and Analysis and senior vice president of Network Strategy. Travel Agent magazine named him one of the "Top 100 Travel Industry Rising Stars" in 1999 and 2003.

Rowe

Before joining Continental, Rowe taught economics at Embry-Riddle. He currently serves on Embry-Riddle's Business College Industry Advisory Committee. He holds a B.S. in aviation business administration from Embry-Riddle and an MBA in finance from San Diego State University.
