Airbus Corporate Jets Expands American Operations

Improved Support for Indianapolis Service Center Inbound Ahead of ACJ TwoTwenty in 2023

Airbus has reinforced its corporate footprint in the United States, announcing the expansion of its sales, support, and marketing efforts in the market at this year’s NBAA BACE.

The expansion comes at a time when more than 1,200 business jets are expected to be replaced or purchased in the market, with 100 bizliners and 1,100 jets expected to change hands in the near future. The business aviation market has been heating up since 2020 amid a trend of increased private flight, and Airbus feels that the North American region is ripe for conquest.

Amid a broader push for increased administrative and sales efforts, Airbus will expand capabilities within its ACJ Service Center Network. Their Comlux Completion in Indianapolis, Indiana will become an approved Service Center MRO for the ACJ TwoTwenty, allowing it to take care of all maintenance-related activities, cabin refurbishing, and cabin/system upgrades. That improved support is important for the ACJ TwoTwenty, a private version of the A220 entering into service next year.

“The goal for ACJ is to penetrate the U.S. market with its latest new-generation corporate jet aircraft, the ACJ TwoTwenty, which was launched at the end of 2020,” said Sean McGeough, VP of Commercial ACJ for North America. “We strongly believe that the ACJ TwoTwenty is a game changer as it is a new value proposition to business aviation buyers. The innovative solution combines intercontinental range and up to three times more personal space, thus providing more comfort for each passenger and at a similar price tag as ULR bizjets but with a much lower operating cost.”

Throughout the country, the Airbus fleet numbers more than 2,000 commercial aircraft in service today, with more than 4,000 employees across 16 states. On the corporate side, Airbus has maintained a smaller profile, currently supporting 210 ACJ aircraft in service around the world, from pole to pole.
