Another Venezuelan SkyTruck In Fatal Crash

Pax list released, six were female civilians, two were Army generals

Yet another Venezuelan PZL M-28 SkyTruck, property of the Venezuelan Air Force, has crashed, this time talking the lives of 16 people, including six female civilians.

The accident took place on Friday, December 10, at 1050 local time (1450 UTC). The aircraft was identified as GN-97121, and it appears to have gone down close to the Metropolitan Police Firing range, near the "El Junquito" sector of the Venezuelan state of Miranda.

The aircraft departed the Puerto Ayacucho airport in the Amazonas state at approximately 0912 local time (1312 UTC), on a flight to the Francisco de Miranda Venezuelan Air Force base near the capital of Caracas. The flight was scheduled to take one hour and fifty minutes at FL 115.

Investigators are on the site and are continuing their examination of the wreckage to determine the most probable cause. Weather conditions at the time of the crash were described as marginal. The passenger list was released on Saturday.
