Lawyer Warns Malaysian Airlines Families To Beware Of Compensation Scams

Pot ... Kettle ... Black ... ???

An attorney in Illinois says he is "disgusted" with reports that families of the passengers aboard Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 have received fake compensation offers that appear to have been sent by the airline ... and has spoken to some families that are forming a "families association" to discuss their concerns as a group.

The attorney is Floyd Wisner. He is directing families to a website he says contains legal information for the families of the passengers.

The website is owned by his law firm, Wisner Law. Wisner said in a press release relayed by the website asiaone.com that there are reports of a bogus email that appear to be sent by the airline being received by the families of the passengers that indicates they should contact a Malaysian bank to arrange for compensation. But the email also says that "administrative charges" will be assessed for the service before any compensation is paid.

While there is no direct pitch for his services, Wisner says in the release that the families should "seek professional and experience aviation counsel to protect their rights."

Judge for yourself.
