Dan Nale Tapped As Vice President Of Advanced Aircraft Programs At Gulfstream

Stan Dixon Steps Up To Director Of Mid-Cabin Programs

Gulfstream has established a new Advanced Aircraft Programs department, and named Dan Nale (pictured, below) as its vice president. His duties as vice president of Mid-Cabin Programs have been assigned to Stan Dixon, director, Mid-Cabin Programs.

Nale started his Gulfstream career in 1985 as a structural analysis engineer and has held increasingly responsible engineering positions within the company. Up until 1996, when he was appointed vice president, Engineering, Nale was responsible for several design- and engineering-related organizations, including Structures, GV Propulsion, Auxiliary Power Unit, Fuel Systems, Environmental Control and Pressurization Systems. As vice president, Mid-Cabin Programs, a position he took over in March 2003, he was responsible for managing the Gulfstream G100, G150, G200 and G250 programs.

Before joining Gulfstream, Nale worked for two years as a stress engineer on the space shuttle wing program for Grumman Aerospace Corp. Nale, a Georgia-registered professional engineer (P.E.), holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The Citadel, master’s and doctoral degrees in engineering from the University of South Carolina, and a master’s in business administration from Mercer University. He has served as a member of engineering advisory boards for Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of South Carolina, Georgia Southern University, Mercer University and The Citadel.

Nale has also participated on various committees, including the Aerospace Industries Association’s executive committee. Dixon (pictured, above) has been director, Mid-Cabin Programs, since 2006. Prior to that, he was director of the Gulfstream G150 program. Dixon came to Gulfstream from Galaxy Aerospace Co., where he was director, Purchasing and Sub Contracts. He has also held various positions with AccuFill Systems Inc., SimuFlite Training International and Cessna.

Dixon earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Texas A&M University. He is a commercial, multi-engine and instrument-rated pilot. Nale and Dixon will continue to report to Pres Henne, senior vice president, Programs, Engineering and Test.
