Bombardier Designated DOA

JAA Gives OK for DOA

Bombardier Recreational Products' Austrian division, Bombardier-Rotax GmbH & Co. KG, has received the approval to act as an International Design Organisation (Design Organisation Approval – DOA), according to JAR-21 aviation law (Joint Aviation Requirements). The DOA status has been awarded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, the highest Austrian Aviation Authority, acting on behalf of the European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA).

Acting as International Design Organisation gives Bombardier-Rotax complete approval rights of minor changes on certified aircraft engines and control over the timing of both minor and major changes. This accreditation also provides Bombardier-Rotax with the authority to approve certain type of technical documentation related to certified aircraft engines.

The receipt of the approval as international design organisation simplifies the whole administration of type certificates and changes on certified aircraft engines, making Bombardier-Rotax even more cost-efficient and competitive.

It is proof of our continuous commitment to our products and of our co-operation with the responsible authorities," states Mr. Harald Ploeckinger, Managing Director of Bombardier-Rotax GmbH & Co. KG. "We are proud to say that we are the second company in Austria to receive the DOA. This approval is another milestone in the history of success of Bombardier-Rotax," Mr. Ploeckinger added.

Bombardier-Rotax is now looking to obtain the international Production Organisation Approval (POA), according to JAR-21.
