Cirrus Announces Perspective Simulator Training with Frasca FTD

Cirrus Design is now offering simulator training for their new Perspective avionics installation on SR22s. Frasca International has upgraded their existing Frasca Cirrus Flight Training Device (FTD) with new Perspective avionics from Garmin. The device was installed this month and is up and running at the Cirrus facility. Cirrus currently has two Frasca FTDs, both originally delivered in February of this year. One of the FTDs has been upgraded with the new Perspective avionics.

The FTD features Garmin avionics that include dual 12" screens (12.4), SVT (Synthetic Vision Technology), HITS (Highway In The Sky), A new concept LVL (level) button on the Autopilot that returns the aircraft to a wings level attitude and IAS button on the Autopilot.

"The Cirrus Perspective Avionics combined with Frasca simulation technology gives us the most advanced trainer in the training business," commented Bill Stone, Director, CD Flight Standards and Operations.

"We chose to make the switch in avionics following the announcement of the new Cirrus Perspective by Garmin so that we we will be able to provide the best overall training experience for our customers."

"Frasca engineers have worked closely with Cirrus and Garmin to ensure the concurrent development of the FTD and the aircraft," commented John Frasca, VP Frasca International, Inc. "This is one of the first general aviation aircraft to be supported by an FTD so early in its production schedule and is a clear indication of Cirrus's commitment to training and safety."
