Sportys Intro's Impressive In-Flight Video System

Sporty's Cockpit Video System May Be 'The Easiest Way To Record Your Flight-Including Audio And GPS Location'

A well-engineered new technology makes the experience of flight -- and the potential of documenting each and every one of them, about as easy as it could possibly be... and we know this for a fact, because we're doing it ourselves -- as ANN has adopted this technology for a number of ongoing Aero-TV projects -- and you folks know how high our standards are for that kind of thing. The Sporty's Cockpit Video System (based on the NFlightCam) is a compact, all-in-one video system is so easy to use that it can literally become standard gear in your airplane (and should be, in our opinion, for EVERY instruction flight).

N377SR In-Flight... at 1080P!

"This video system is also useful for flight instructors and their students," said Sporty's Vice President John Zimmerman. "A post-lesson debriefing can become so much more valuable when flight students can have an instant replay of what was done correctly - or needs improvement."

The Cockpit Video System is (Truly... even ANN's Jim Campbell can do it) easy to use. Just slide the single button forward to start recording in full HD video (1080p at 30 fps or 720p at 60 fps). A custom headset interface allows you to record all of your communications, including intercom and radio. The new GPS-enabled system uses a built-in GPS receiver to log your exact location as it records video. With the included software, you can play back your video alongside speed, altitude and even your position overlaid on a Google Earth map.

Both cameras have a rotating lens and laser alignment system so you can mount the camera at any angle, without distorting the video. The 135 degree lens can capture the entire cockpit, including pilots, instrument panel and the forward view. The complete package features Easy Edit™ software to make it a snap to create and share your videos. Each system also includes an adhesive mount, 3 hour battery, microphone jack, 2GB micro SD card and USB cable. It weighs just 4.3 oz.

The Cockpit Video System [9369a] is available for $399.00. and the Cockpit Video System with GPS [9696A] is available for $499.00. Both a Ram Suction Cup Mount [4065a] and a RAM Glare Shield Mount [9280a] are available as accessories. And... by the way... all Sporty's products ordered by Thursday, December 23, 2010, can be delivered in time for Christmas. Hint, Hint....
