Learn About Water Survival Tools And Techniques

Doug Ritter's AOPA Expo Seminars Could Save Your Life

Aviation survival authority Doug Ritter will present three seminars at AOPA Expo this year in Palm Springs, CA.

During the seminars, you'll have a chance to win over $4,400 worth of the very best survival gear as door prizes. You can learn how to survive and maybe win the gear to help you do it.

On Friday, November 10, you can attend his acclaimed two-part Ditching and Water Survival seminar. Part I starts at 11am in Smoketree rooms A-E at the convention center. You'll learn techniques to safely ditch your aircraft and survive. Get there early, last year the fire marshal closed the doors and Ritter had to turn away attendees.

Part II begins at 3pm in the Wyndham Hotel Pool immediately adjacent to the Convention Center. He will demonstrate life rafts, life vests, survival exposure suits, signaling gear and much more -- right in the pool!

Ritter says he still has room for a limited number of volunteers (adults only, please) to participate in the demonstration. This is a rare opportunity to gain some first hand experience with this water survival gear.

On Saturday, November 11, Doug will present "Equipping Yourself to Survive: Survival Gear for Pilots" at 11am in the Pasadena Room.

When your flight has gone about as bad as it possibly can, your survival may well depend upon the survival gear you have with you. Even with modern communications and distress signaling, you could easily end up stuck in the wilderness overnight.

If rescue is delayed, it's probably because of difficult weather or other circumstances that would add to your troubles.

Doug will explain what gear you should never be without and, just as important, what gear is worth betting your life on and what isn't. Doug says you don't have to spend a fortune to be equipped to survive.
