AgustaWestland Gets Orders From Bond Aviation, Haughey Air

Deals Announced At Helitech Exhibition In The UK

AgustaWestland announced two orders Thursday at the Helitech exhibition being held at Duxford near Cambridge in the UK.

Bond Aviation Group entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with AugustaWestland to establish a multi-year contract covering the purchase of AW139, AW169 and AW189 helicopters for offshore oil and gas support, HEMS, SAR and emergency service missions, together with support to the emerging offshore wind-farm market. "The signing of the MoU is a step towards what we hope will see Bond becoming a major operator of AgustaWestland's AW139, AW169 and AW189 helicopters," said Emilio Dalmasso, AgustaWestland Senior VP Commercial Business. "We look forward to expanding our existing relationship with Bond and ultimately seeing them add more AW139s to their fleet and becoming a customer for the new AW169 and AW189 helicopters which offer exciting new opportunities."

"Bond already operate a number of AgustaWestland aircraft and recognise AgustaWestland as a respected manufacturer," said Bond Aviation Group chairman Peter Bond. "These aircraft types could significantly enhance our business in specific market areas. There are promising markets emerging and through these markets Bond will ensure future growth."

The other other announced Thursday was for an AW139 from Haughey Air Limited. The aircraft, configured for corporate and VIP transport purposes, will be based in Northern Ireland and will be delivered in 2012.

"Haughey Air has selected the AW139 to meet its future corporate and VIP passenger transport requirements," said Dalmasso. "The AW139 offers high levels of comfort, performance and safety and I am very confident this new generation helicopter will be appreciated by Haughey Air's many clients."

Haughey Air provides a range of corporate and VIP helicopter charter services from its base in Northern Ireland and throughout the UK.

Almost 580 AW139s have been sold in more than 50 countries to almost 160 customers for many roles including VIP/corporate transport, passenger transport, law enforcement, fire fighting, offshore transport, search and rescue, emergency medical service, disaster relief and maritime security.
