Great Lakes Int'l Aviation Conference Moves To New Digs

Event To Be Held In Novi, MI February 2-3, 2007

Representatives on the planning committee for the Great Lakes International Aviation Conference told ANN this weekend the event is expanding for 2007, and moving to Michigan's newest convention center, the Rock Financial Showplace.

Located in Novi, MI -- one of the fastest growing suburbs in southeast Michigan -- the new venue is a state-of-the-art facility, and is easily accessible from I-96.

"We are excited about the move and how it will enhance the conference," said Todd Smith, the Conference Coordinator. "We have had many requests from attendees and exhibiters who desire to be closer to the major Detroit market. The new location will certainly accommodate their needs."

Over the past six years, the GLIAC has developed steadily into the premier event of its kind in the Midwest. The 2007 conference will feature an expanded exhibit hall and a new line-up of outstanding speakers and products.

Central to this year's event will be an Aviation Jobs and Career Fair. With the help of the Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology (MIAT), the GLIAC will feature many aviation employers who are potentially hiring pilots, maintenance technicians, and other fields within the aviation industry.

"The career fair will open the conference to aviation students and others who are curious about opportunities in the aviation industry," said Phil Tartalone, Chair of the Planning Committee and Eastern Michigan University Aviation Program Coordinator. "The potential employment options will be outstanding."

This will be the seventh year for the conference. The dates are set for February 2-3, 2007.
