Five Receive Master Instructor Designation In August

National Accreditation Recognized By The FAA

Four instructors have renewed their Master Instructor designation in the month of August, while a fifth earned the distinction for the first time.

Master Instructors LLC said in a news release that all were accredited as Masters by Master Instructors LLC, the international Master Instructor accrediting authority. All obtained their designation through the Master Instructor "Fluid Review" program online.

Professional aviation educators who earned or renewed their "Master" title during August 2017 are:

Sanford Cresap "Cres" Wise III, Bonaire GA.
Sanford C Wise III, a 3-time Master and SAFE member, renewed his Master CFI accreditation August 1. Cres is an assistant chief flight instructor with the Robins Air Force Base Aero Club as well as an assistant professor of aviation at Middle Georgia State University.  A retired Air Force officer, he also serves as a FAASTeam representative in the FAA's Atlanta FSDO area and is a mission pilot, check pilot examiner and instructor pilot for the Georgia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. Sanford Cresap "Cres" Wise III Adam Dominick Ruscitti

Adam Dominick Ruscitti, Belvidere IL.
Adam D Ruscitti, a 4-time Master and SAFE member, renewed his Master CFI accreditation August 25. Adam is an independent instructor pilot, career counselor, and mentor as well as a B-757 and B-767 first officer with United Airlines. He specializes in training and mentoring owner / operator pilots transitioning into single-pilot very light jets as well as initial jet type ratings and recurrent jet training. ADRuscit@aol.com  

Francis Martin "Marty" McDonough, Gilbert AZ.
Francis M "Marty" McDonough, a 2-time Master and SAFE member, renewed his Master CFI-Aerobatic accreditation July 31.  Marty is the chief of safety with Aviation Performance Solutions, a Part 61 and 141 flight school at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway (IWA). A retired Air Force officer and instructor pilot, he now specializes in upset prevention and recovery training as well as stall, unusual attitude, spin and air-to-air combat training. Marty. James Edward "Jim" McCord Jr, Santa Rosa CA.
James E McCord, a 3-time Master and SAFE member, recently renewed his Master CFI accreditation August 15. A former volunteer Angel Flight pilot, Jim serves on the Sonoma County Aviation Commission and is a FAASTeam representative in the FAA's Oakland FSDO area. Additionally, he is an independent flight instructor with RAM Aviation at Santa Rosa's Charles M Schulz - Sonoma County Airport (STS). JimMcCordCFI@gmail.com

Christopher G "Chris" Healy

Christopher G "Chris" Healy, Yuma AZ.
Marine Capt Christopher G Healy, a 1st-time Master and SAFE member, recently earned his Master CFI (MCFI) accreditation August 27. Chris is currently serving as an MV-22B Osprey pilot and instructor with Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron 1 at MCAS Yuma where he specializes in instrument navigation and CRM instruction. Additionally, he provides flight and recurrency training for Angel Flight and Civil Air Patrol pilots while also serving as a FAASTeam representative in the San Diego FSDO area.  CHealy1984@gmail.com

Many of the most recent National Flight Instructors of the Year or National FAASTeam Representatives of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA has approved the accreditation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.
