What Was Old, Is New Again: New Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge

You've read it... you know you have. An industry mainstay for more than 25 years, the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge is one of the first and most important publications a pilot may read. Previously known as Advisory Circular (AC) 61-23C, the FAA's new edition of this popular reference manual accounts for regulatory and procedural changes that have occurred since the last revision in 1997, and is re-listed as the FAA-H-8083-25.

Reflecting all of the latest industry procedures and techniques, the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge is a comprehensive source for the theory and knowledge required to fly airplanes. This new edition features full-color illustrations throughout, and has incorporated the aerodynamics section that was previously found in Chapter 17 of the former Flight Training Handbook (AC 61-21A). It is also the official reference source for the questions appearing on the FAA Knowledge Exams.

This book introduces pilots to the broad spectrum of knowledge that they need as they progress through their pilot training, from student pilots to those pursuing more advanced pilot certificates. It includes discussions on: the principles of flight, airplanes and engines, flight instruments, weight and balance, aircraft performance, weather, airport operations, airspace, charts and navigation, aeromedical factors and aeronautical decision making.

The latest edition, from ASA, is Full-color with illustrations throughout, softcover, glossary, indexed, and 352 pages. It lists for $29.95.
