Project Is Part Of NASA's Celebration Of The 40th Anniversary
Of The Moon Landing
On the eve of the 40th anniversary of the historic first moon
landing, NASA is seeking ideas from the public, academia, and
industry about how to analyze and catalog notes from spaceflight
pioneer Wernher von Braun into an electronic, searchable database
or other system.
Now available for download for FSX, the PBY Catalina has a long
history of service to the military, mostly with the US Navy. During
World War II, the PBY was often equipped with bombs, torpedoes,
depth charges and machine guns and used as for anti-submarine
warfare, reconnaissance, search and rescue and supply
Snecma and Volvo Aero agreed at the Paris Air Show on the basic
principles of a five-year partnership between the two companies in
the field of space propulsion. For Volvo Aero, sales of

Helps Update Older Aircraft Capability Without A Complete
The Pentastar Aviation Maintenance and Design Team presented
Edsel B. Ford II, Owner, Pentastar Aviation, and Rick Maloney,
President and CEO, Pentastar Aviation with the first production run
articulating yoke mount (patent pending) for the C-130 aircraft.

Electronic Flight Bag System.
NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) have received the first on-orbit signals from GOES-O,
indicating that the Earth-observation satellite is healthy and

EAA and AOPA are asking the FAA to extend the public comment
period from 30 to 60 days regarding a petition to impose a night
flight curfew at the Bob Hope Airport (BUR) in Burbank, California.
The curfew, proposed by the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport
Authority (BGPAA) for 10 p.m.-6:59 am, would force all users to
transfer night flight operations to other regional airports.
ALPA has called on Congress to pass legislation that would help
control excessive speculation in the commodity futures marketplace
by enhancing oversight, transparency, and reporting requirements,
as well as imposing limits on cumulative speculative positions
across all markets.
ETOPS - Extended-range
Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards
Extended Operations (ETOPS) means an airplane flight operation,
other than an all-cargo operation in an airplane with more than two
engines, during which a portion of the flight is conducted beyond a
time threshold identified in part 121 or part 135 of this chapter
that is determined using an approved one-engine-inoperative cruise
speed under standard atmospheric conditions in still air.
NASA PA-30 Flutter Test
Ya gotta hand it to YouTube... along with a lot of nonsense,
there is some amazing footage... in this case, a copy of the NASA
flutter testing of a Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche... check this out
and prepare to be shocked at the destructive power of aerodynamic
flutter. Preventing such phenomena is one of the reasons that FAA
Certification is such a big deal.
“Oil prices have begun to climb again and, given
the other challenges facing our economy right now, it’s clear
that we need to act swiftly to stabilize the marketplace to head
off another significant price spike.”
