Mahindra Aerospace: From Down Under To Down Over

Flies Missions Ranging From VIP Transport To Cargo Hauling

By Dave Juwel

For those not familiar with the Mahindra Group, it is a $17 billion company located in India, and they bought the Gipps Airvan from the developers in Australia.

Currently they are having Wipaire floats certified for use on the aircraft. There are several configurations of the aircraft covering everything from executive transport, to cargo, to surveillance.

Rugged construction, a 1725 lb payload, a low operating cost, STOL performance, and quick change interiors make this a very versatile aircraft. Their second model, the  Airvan10, expands all the specifications of the Airvan8, and is expected to be certified in 2015.
