Franc Mendes Joins Universal Avionics As Airline Business Development Manager

Joins The Company With Over 24 Years Of Experience In The Aerospace Industry

Universal Avionics (UA) has appointed Franc Mendes to the position of Airline Business Development Manager. Based out of Phoenix, AZ, Mendes is responsible for introducing UA’s product line including the ClearVision Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) to the airline market. Additionally, Franc will support UA’s Flight Department as a demonstration pilot for the company’s Gulfstream G-III aircraft.

Mendes (pictured) joins UA with over 24 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Most recently, he served in the position of Technical and Safety Pilot for the Boeing Company in Shanghai, China. Prior to Boeing, Franc was a long-haul pilot for Cathay Pacific Airways. He also has extensive experience flying corporate, United Nations, and other humanitarian missions.

“Over the past year, UA has seen an increased interest from the airline market for EFVS solutions,” said Scott Campbell, Director of Airline Sales for UA. “Moving forward, we’re excited to provide a solid commercial offering with mature products, with many certifications currently in work,” he added. “Franc’s multiple type ratings on transport category aircraft, as well as his airline experience, will play an important role in UA’s efforts to support this growing market.”
