WAI Scholarship Deadline This Monday

$470K In Awards To Be Announced In March 2012

Just a few days remain to apply for one of the many Women in Aviation, International (WAI) scholarships which will be distributed at WAI’s annual conference. For 2012, 68 individual scholarships valued at $470,431 will be awarded to WAI members.

The deadline for submissions is this Monday, November 14. You must be a WAI member to apply for a WAI scholarship, but you can still join instantly online at www.wai.org. The WAI site also includes a detailed description of each scholarship, qualifications, an application and tips and pointers to increase your chances of winning.

“WAI’s scholarships are open to women and men,” says WAI President Dr. Peggy Chabrian (pictured). “The only qualification for all scholarships is that the person be a WAI member. Other specific criteria apply to individual scholarships.”

The diversity of WAI scholarships mirrors the diversity of WAI members. Scholarships include funds for specific flight training activities, including many type ratings as well as for academic studies, help in making a mid-life career change and even learning to fly just for fun. Scholarships are available for students, pilots, engineers, and aviation mechanics.

The scholarships will be awarded when Women in Aviation returns to Dallas, Texas, for its 23rd Annual International Women in Aviation Conference scheduled at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas from March 8-10, 2012.
