Full Motion Training Device To Be Operational By End Of
Year
Aero-News learned this week FlightSafety International will
install Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics in a Dassault Falcon
50 Full Motion Simulator. The simulator is scheduled to be
operational by December 2007.
"Current and future Falcon 50 Pro Line 21 customers will have
access to a full motion simulator that is more representative of
their aircraft," said Denny Helgeson, vice president and general
manager of Rockwell Collins Business and Regional Systems. "This
announcement coincides with the 25th Falcon 50 to be retrofitted
with Pro Line 21. Dassault Falcon 50 operators continue to install
Pro Line 21 because it brings value to the aircraft while improving
situational awareness."
The Pro Line 21 avionics suite features four eight-inch by
10-inch active matrix liquid crystal displays (AMLCDs) in a
portrait configuration. The system includes Rockwell Collins Pro
Line 21 communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) radio
suite, digital autopilot with coupled VNAV, Dual Flight Management
Systems with GPS WAAS receivers, air data sensors, integrated
maintenance diagnostics, weather radar and Dual Integrated Flight
Information System (IFIS).
Rockwell Collins IFIS
enables such advanced capabilities as electronic charts with the
aircraft symbol overlayed to enhance situational awareness on
approach and while taxiing, graphical weather (XM satellite
broadcast as well as interactive request/reply from Universal
Weather), and enhanced map overlays.
The dual Integrated Flight Information System installation in
the Falcon 50 retrofit supports the capability to operate without
paper charts.
