ATL Charter Company Sees Market In Hauling Pax To Big Airport

One VERY Short Haul

Face it. If you live in Atlanta, you're driving in the second-worst traffic in America (behind Los Angeles). So if you have a flight out of town, chances are you could spend well more than an hour just getting to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

But not if Wings Air has its way.

The charter company based in Lawrenceville, GA -- about 25 miles north of the I-285 Perimeter surrounding Atlanta -- wants to start scheduled flights from Briscoe Field to ATL at a per-passenger price of about $100.

It's not a first in the Atlanta area, where traffic often tops the news. Already, Wings Air flies from Briscoe Field to Athens, Georgia, when the University of Georgia football team plays home games. The company says those flights are often sell-outs.

And a company in Forsyth County, Georgia, which is further from ATL than Briscoe Field, says it's offering helicopter flights to the big airport.

Who says getting there isn't half the fun?
