Twitter War Erupts Over First Class Airline Seat

Fox News White House Reporter Claims He Was Bumped For A 'Government Official'

The chief White House Correspondent for Fox News says he was bumped from his first class seat on a flight to Washington, DC during the Memorial Day weekend so that a "government official" could take the flight. And the newsman took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with US Airways.

But the airline said that it was following long-established policy.

Multiple media sources including Travelers Today reports that Ed Henry's first tweet said "@USAirways so you bump folks out of first class seats to DC when you have govt officials who need last-min first class tickets? #really."

The airline reportedly Tweeted back ""@edhenrytv We appreciate your concern, Ed. Please ask the customer that was bumped to submit details here: http://bit.ly/CRContact."

After going back and forth trying to convince the airline that it was not a third party who was bumped but the reporter himself, Henry Tweeted "@USAirways just saying -- folks should know before flying your airline you give preference to govt officials over loyal customers. USAirways thanks, filled out form. now plan on letting a lot of people know about your system of first class seats for govt officials."

Henry later said during the Twitterverse conversation that followed that "gate agent for @usairways sd they bump customers for govt officials going to #DCA "all the time.""
