Cirrus Selects Frasca FTD For Duluth Training Center

Will Be Used To Train New SR22 Pilots

Cirrus Design Corporation recently selected Frasca International of Urbana, IL to provide an SR22 Flight Training Device (FTD) for use at the planemaker's training center in Duluth, MN.

The FTD will be used to train new Cirrus SR22 owners upon delivery of their aircraft. It will include CAPS (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System) and de-icing simulation, Avidyne Entegra avionics and Frasca's TruVision 170 visual display system.

"I'm excited by Frasca's commitment to bring exceptional flight training devices to Cirrus pilots," said Bill Stone, Director of Flight Standards at Cirrus Design. "Simulation is a phenomenal training tool with benefits for all pilots. I appreciate Frasca's assistance in bringing a flight training device to the Cirrus factory and their interest in providing similar technology at Cirrus Standardized Training Centers.

"In its first weeks of operation, the device in Duluth has already provided dramatic flight lessons to several Cirrus customers," Stone added.

Frasca International manufactures flight training equipment for airlines, flight schools, universities and military organizations worldwide. Product range includes Flight Training Devices (FTDs), FNPT I, II and IIMCC devices, CPTs, Full Flight Simulators (FFS) and more for all aircraft types, fixed wing and rotary. Frasca has delivered over 2000 devices to some 70 countries since the companies founding in 1958.

For the last five years, the Cirrus SR22 has been the world's best-selling aircraft in its class.
