Xavion Releases Version 1.47

Includes Major Enhancements To Synthetic Vision, Emergency Lander, Instrument Backup, Company Says

The Xavion iPad app has a new version released recently that the company says is a "major enhancement" to the product.

The company says the new version provides highway in the sky flight direction to you in the event of an engine out. It will find the best airport within gliding range and show you the path to glide down to it. Additionally, flight instruments and synthetic vision, weight and balance, and runway takeoff distance calculations have also been upgraded.

According to the description posted to the Apple app store, Xavion shows you the best hoops it can even if you need power to achieve them. This way, if you have partial power, or want to make a precautionary landing with power, you can.

And, if you are in the hoops (meaning they are not above you) then you can, as always, follow them while gliding without power.

"The bottom line is that you can always see what your options are, whether you can make a gliding approach or not, so you have yet another level of information and guidance here: Partial-power and precautionary landing guidance as well as the power-off guidance you are used to," the description reads.

The AHRS system has also been overhauled to work with the variety of sensors available now, from the Sagetech Clarity to the iLevil to the GPS and pressure sensor built right into the newer iPhones and iPads.
