Erickson’s Expertise, Infrastructure And Manufacturing Capacity Extends Capabilities Beyond Core Fleet
Erickson Air-Crane Incorporated has signed a Master Agreement with Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. to build fabricated aircraft assemblies. Activities under the Master Agreement scope of work will begin immediately, using a wide range of Erickson expertise in engineering, legacy aircraft production, and fabrication of aircraft assemblies. The total contract value is more than $5.6 million. Erickson expects to recognize the majority of contract revenues when assemblies start shipping in 2014 through 2015.
“By extending our capabilities beyond the company’s core fleet, we will implement a strategy that leverages our expertise, infrastructure, and manufacturing capacity," said Udo Rieder, Erickson’s Chief Executive Officer. "Erickson’s close working relationship with Sikorsky is supported by our unique capabilities in manufacturing, engineering, and design. The recent acquisitions of Evergreen Helicopters and Air Amazonia demonstrate our heritage as experts in heavy-lift helicopters, and position us as an excellent partner across a number of important platforms.”
Erickson currently operates a diverse fleet of 91 rotary-wing and fixed wing aircraft, including a fleet of 20 heavy-lift S-64 Aircranes. This fleet supports a wide and worldwide variety of government and commercial customers, across a broad range of aerial services, including critical supply and logistics for deployed military forces, humanitarian relief, firefighting, timber harvesting, infrastructure construction, and crewing. Erickson also maintains a vertical manufacturing capability for the S-64 Aircrane, related components, and other aftermarket support and maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the S-64 Aircrane and other aircraft.
